A large, friendly store with some real finds.  You need to add this place to your route if you’re looking for furniture items.  I got the impression they have a pretty good turnaround and pieces come in and go out quickly.  We found a solid oak table, with extra leaves and carved legs on castors for $50 but we weren’t quite quick enough for this bargain and someone else scooped it up while we were there.  They have lots of costume jewelry, nicely displayed and some clothing too.  Homewares and furniture make up the bulk of the inventory.  Helping Hands raises money for a long list of local charity groups and was just voted Best Thrift Store in CT Now’s Best of New Haven Readers’ Poll 2015
