Sigh. I fell in love with the Victorian lounge in this cafe. High ceilings, tall windows, built-in bookshelves with a lending library, comfy chairs and the longest sofa I’ve ever seen situated in front of a beautiful fireplace and an English Heritage blue plaque. Yes, that’s right, an English Heritage blue plaque – albeit for the not-yet-living inventor of time travel, Phineas Lowell. Enjoy a delicious bourbon and salted caramel brownie and grab a book from the newly-opened Serpentine Books and just relax here. I wish I lived closer to this place as two hours is a little far to travel for your favorite coffee lounge however, I am sorely tempted to make a return visit as soon as possible.
