I moved to East Haddam back in January and was very pleasantly surprised by how much there is in this quiet country setting.  Not least, I found the perfect coffee shop.  Two Wrasslin’ Cats is welcoming and friendly with lots of cozy nooks to hide away in.  Their coffee and sandwiches are very good, lots of variety for vegetarians too.  There’s a real neighborhood community spirit here.  The first time I went in Mark, the owner, introduced himself and his son Harry to me and welcomed me to the village.  He has remembered my name ever since and gives me a big hug when I stop by.

Community groups meet here, there is live music on Saturday afternoons and monthly poetry readings too.  I can’t recommend this place highly enough.
